CHRISTOPHER J WRAY “BERLIN”.
BERLIN is the long awaited new album from Christopher J Wray which remains to be his best endeavour to date. The culmination of 2 years work brings you his latest experimental electro collage, bringing a youthful new outlook to this genre, while bridging the gap between contemporary electronica and old school Berlin.
Now on E.A.R. & Musiczeit.com:
CHRISTOPHER J WRAY “LIVE IN LONDON”.
On 25th August 2007, emerging UK Electronic artist, Christopher J Wray, performed some of his well known compositions for the first time, completely live to a an intimate crowd at the Swiss Church, Covent Garden, London - while premiering a brand new track from his latest album “BERLIN”. Christopher J Wray’s first outing as a electronic music performer assuredly points of great things to come.
Our resplendent compère Steve Deg links up from Tokyo to Germany, for an exclusive, raw and comedic interview with Sascha Windrath, the man & machine behind the bombastic industrial beats of ANTIMATTERMAN. Featuring music from his debut album “MANIPULATOR”.
“The BBC Radiophonic Workshop created music and sound effects for
everything from Doctor Who to The Goon Show.
To mark its 50th anniversary, two veterans returned to the studios
where the Workshop was based to recreate some of the sounds that made
the unit famous.”
“Wearing your heart on your sleeve – or at least your heart monitor – will no longer be just a romantic notion in the future. Even today, the merger of technology and style is empowering Lunar to fuse its passion for relevant products and its urge for creative applications.
The award-winning and museum-exhibited BLU jacket concept explores the integration of wireless technology and flexible displays to create an ever-changing fashion accessory at the intersection of personal expression and advertising.”
CLUB ROBOT, the new club night from Earth Academy Records, lands in London on Wednesday 23rd April with an amazing line-up of live electronica and DJs.
INTELLIGENTSIA are an international collective of musicians spearheaded by cyborg futurist Mirai, who is joined on stage by vocalist Dr.Es (Cyber-Geisha) and keyboardist Christopher J Wray. They’ll be showcasing material from their first two albums, Federation and the acclaimed space epic Civilizations, as well as new tracks from their harder-edged forthcoming album. Mirai’s musical body-suit has to be seen to be believed. Don’t miss it!
We are honoured to be joined by the legendary KOMPUTER, who signed to Mute Records in the mid 80s as I Start Counting. Their discography spans Kraftwek-influenced electro to modern glitchtronica, and their 2007 album Synthetik is a brilliant summary of their wide-ranging sound.
Sweden’s RANDOM is a thrilling new force in electro - you won’t believe the sounds, beats and melodies he gets out of a single Nintendo Gameboy. He’s quite rightly the toast of the 8-bit scene, but even if you don’t play video games you’ll be blown away by his insanely catchy technopop sound.
DJs for the night are TERMINAL (Godlike / Synthetic Culture), MATT NIDA and FUTURE-BOY who’ll be playing any electronica you can think of - techno to synthpop, ambient to industrial, and everything in between. If it has an electronic pulse, you’ll hear it!
Everything happens in the unusual, Tokyo-esque setting of UNDER THE WESTWAY - located in Westbourne Studios, 242 Acklam Road, London W10 5JJ. The nearest tube is Ladbroke Grove - come out of the station, walk straight ahead and simply follow the path of the motorway flyover above you all the way to the venue (5 mins walk).
We are pushing a positive, future minded, collaborative and interactive club event. So if there’s anything you want to contribute or exhibit (digitally/graphics/fashion/video/sculptures/art etc.) that you feel fits with the style of the event, do get in contact.
