Originally from space, MIRAI ('Future Boy') is the founder of the neo-futurist network 'Intelligentsia' - its prime directive to bring together artists on the vanguard, with an amalgamation of innovative philosophy and positive future. Mirai grew up designing U.K. video games during the 80's whizz kid era, releasing over 10 titles from age 14, and then moved onto music, video & fashion during the growth of the rave culture, where he began to group in a motley bag of musicians & artists, always pushing against the status quo. Their first gig was in Camden Palace, London '91, & have done over 50 live events since, including the Interactive Live tour with Japanese pioneers P-Model (Warner), Innovation Lab (Denmark), Yokohama sports stadium (Japan), Emotions (Belgium) Toucho Skyscraper (Tokyo), & the Alfa Centauri & E.Live festivals (Netherlands). From '95 he relocated to Tokyo, writing soundtracks for Japanese video games, club mixes, TV & radio. In Tokyo he was a video game character & model, co-hosted Electronic music radio shows, wrote for 'Keyboard' magazine, & did various TV & national radio media spots. In Japan he had a political party named after him, & was the first foreigner to perform a techno live using a mobile phone. Mirai's portfolio includes the global artist project 'WorldWideKind', webmaster for Uri Geller, customized music devices such as the Body-Drum & the Gypsy-Midi exo-skeleton controller, & interactive digital content for Arkaos VJ, Famitsu, Morley Robertson (J-Wave Radio), Kenso Kato, Susumu Hirasawa, Yamaha, Arvato & T-mobile. Intelligentsia's latest performance unit features: Cyber-Geisha & Christopher J.Wray. |
